Premium Teak

Natural teak, left to age naturally outside, will gradually change to a soft, silver-grey color, as the pigments in the surface layer of the wood begin to fade away. A pillar of Sutherland Furniture, teak is renowned for its unique natural properties that require decades of growth yet withstand the test of time. Due to wood density, and the high content of oil and silicates that act as a barrier, teak is incredibly water and weather resistant, resulting in heirloom quality outdoor furniture.

Powder Coat Hues

Aluminum is a light and tough metal with an excellent strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance - making it an ideal material for outdoor furniture. Our aluminum frames are coated with an electrostatically applied, powder coat finish, and made to order according to any client’s vision.

Performance Weave

Sutherland Furniture utilizes a woven polyethylene resin to achieve the delicate look of rattan and other natural weaves, yet maintain performance properties. The polyethylene based, extruded and through-dyed wicker is completely weatherproof as well as being color-fast, extremely hard-wearing and easy to clean. The flexible yet durable material is manipulated into intricate designs that result in exquisite pieces.

Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel

Ideal for yachting, our Mariner 316 Stainless Steel provides optimum corrosion-resistance from marine
environments. 316 Stainless Steel is reinforced with chromium, in addition to 62% iron composition, making Sutherland products incredibly resistant to pitting and corrosion.

Exquisite Stone

Sutherland Furniture’s performance technology is paired with raw materials that need no perfecting. Our
stone table tops and accents, from Belgian Bluestone to Carrara Marble, are sourced from renowned
quarries around the globe--like our Blue Limestone of Hainaut®, a very compact natural limestone with a
natural grey-blue color and the presence of numerous fossilized marine residue as its main characteristic.
Natural beauty with elegant designs.

Sutherland offers indoor and outdoor options for all cushions. Our indoor cushions are a 25/75 down wrap around a poly foam core for a classic residential look (cushions 2" or thinner are constructed of Dacron™ and poly foam core). For outdoor use, seat cushions are constructed of Dacron wrap around a medium-soft density hypoallergenic Ez Dri™ poly foam core and Dacron fill in the back cushions. We use non-corrosive zippers/fasteners. Velcro straps are standard on all attachable cushions.

Standard cushion detail is top-stitch (Exceptions: welt on Melina; saddlestitch on Poolside). Standard cushion pricing also includes application of welt, flange, trim, standing-stitch, buttons, etc. at your specification. Many custom details are also available on all cushions.
