John Hutton International is an independent design firm that specializes in product design for the world’s luxury furniture market. The company was founded in 1998 by American design icon John Hutton and his longtime collaborator, Joe Doyle.

Instrumental in the Sutherland design aesthetic from its inception, Hutton combined contemporary flair with a classical foundation to produce truly original concepts. His unique perspective was grounded in a commitment to creating for the individual rather than for the market, a philosophy reflected in the unsurpassed quality, elegant simplicity and ultimate comfort so consistent in his work.
